The Confirmation Journey

We believe that confirmation, that is, building a firm foundation of our faith (1 Tim. 6:18-19), is centered on the inerrant Word of God (2 Tim. 3:6-17), key elements summarized in Luther’s Catechism, the church’s roles as co-teachers in support of the parent’s charge to teach their children (Deut. 11:18-19), and building relationships with each other in the body of Christ (1 Thess. 5:11).  We affirm the important of the following:

  • Students will attend at least 30 of 36 evening classes.
  • Students do need to complete 100% of the curriculum, therefore, if they are absent, they will need to complete the pages from the missed lesson in the student book at home.

20 Fairlawn Lutheran Church Sermon Reports

  • Students will complete 10 reports between September 1 and December 31.
  • Students will complete 10 reports between January 1 and April 30.
  • The Sermon Report forms can be picked up/returned in the church mailboxes.
  • The reports will be reviewed weekly by Pastor.

8th Grade Requirements (in addition to above)

  • Students will complete 100% of 5 projects.
  • Students will attend all project nights.
  • Each family will create a banner around a family selected bible verse (May).
  • Students prepare and present a public confession statement (2 minutes).

Confirmation Classes are held Sunday evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 pm at FLCS.
